Ronny's Story

We recently received a call from a very thankful consumer, Ronny, who expressed his excitement about a new winter-weather-friendly walker we provided to him. Ronny, who enjoys walking outdoors, had been struggling with a walker that lacked the stability and traction he needed during the snowy months. Our Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, Renee Thompson, visited Ronny to assess his situation. She quickly realized that his current walker wasn’t providing the support he needed to stay safe and active outside. Through our Occupational Therapy Equipment Loan Closet, we were able to provide Ronny with a walker designed for better stability and traction in winter conditions, helping him stay safe and active. This service is just one of the many ways your support helps individuals like Ronny, ensuring they have the mobility aids they need to maintain their independence and quality of life.

Ronny Richardson: This is an awesome much needed organization, they came through once again when I was down with this broken, shaking, scary walker that was on its last leg, now I can get around with a brand new one with confidence. Thank goodness for Disability Advocates of Kent County and Ms. Renee, you are the best.
