Volunteer Opportunities at DAKC

As part of Disability Advocate’s Access team, the volunteer will need to research specific questions
regarding ADA guidelines and return answers in written form. Some information may require experience
and/or investigation. Drafting of letters may also be part of the volunteer’s duties.

Qualifications:
- This position requires excellent research and writing skills.
- Must be able to search through federal codes and guidelines to find specific information.
- Must be able to clearly communicate both the information itself and where the information was found, in writing.

Volunteer Your Time

Volunteers play such a vital role in the work we do in the community.  Giving your time and sharing your skills make DAKC the grassroots, consumer-driven organization that it is.  From attending rallies, to talking with legislators to day-to-day office tasks volunteers provide support that makes a difference in our community.

Disability Advocates of Kent County seeks volunteers to help with such tasks as:

  • Working at special fundraising events
  • Advocacy
  • Peer support
  • Updating our mailing list
  • Entering Data
  • Assisting receptionist
  • Cleaning equipment
  • Mailings
  • Working with the Accessibility Specialist
