The Disability Advocates of Kent County Information and Referral (I&R) Specialist assists callers by providing information and material about numerous community resources related to housing, transportation, Social Security, and many others. When appropriate, the I&R Specialist refers callers to any one of the Disability Advocates’ 15+ internal programs and services that assist individuals with all types of disabilities to maintain or improve their independence, in order to lead full and self-directed lives.
When someone contacts us, and we are unable to provide direct assistance through our programs, the I&R Specialist will refer them to mainstream community supports and organizations. Our doors have been open for 25 years so we have established some strong relationships with numerous organizations that can also provide assistance.
Information and Referral Services may be requested over the phone, via email, and through scheduled appointments. It is best to call first, as walk-in availability is quite limited.
