Disability Advocates seeks to bring together the disability community, organizational representatives, and community stakeholders in Kent County to identify significant issues that negatively impact people living with disabilities.  From there, we work to create goals and a plan of action for community change and to achieve our common objectives.

Our current project, The Common Disability Agenda aims to:

  • Establish a clear concise public policy agenda that will guide the actions of persons with disabilities and other stakeholders towards positive change.

  • Recruit and support people so that they can make the changes they want in our community.

  • Provide needed training and mentoring in community organizing, leadership development, and other required skills to all community members.
